Highland Energy is a Tennessee-based, family-owned company built on four generations of experience in the fuel and convenience store industry. From the beginning, our mission has been simple: treat every customer like family. Guided by the values that have shaped our family for decades, we’ve built a reputation for reliability and service, because at the end of the day, we keep people moving. This commitment has become the hallmark of our success and the foundation that helps our customers succeed.
Founded in 1936 by E.M. Adcox as an Esso consignee, Highland was built on a simple commitment to service and community. That foundation carried forward as the company transitioned to Sinclair in 1941 and grew into a trusted, family-owned fuel business rooted in Middle Tennessee.
Under the leadership of J.M. Adcox, Highland became a wholly owned jobbership in 1967 and later a Texaco jobber. After J.M.’s sudden passing in 1974, David and Connie Adcox led the company with vision and determination for decades of growth, with David stepping into the role of Chairman of the Board in 2020.
Today, Highland proudly operates under fourth-generation leadership with CEO Seth Blanks, who joined the company in 2007. As the company reaches 90 years of service, it now carries the name Highland Energy—a reflection of both its legacy and its future-focused mission to keep people moving for generations to come.

In the convenience retail space, we support numerous locations across middle and west Tennessee through our company owned and operated Fast Stop Markets chain, dealer-operated Shell, Exxon, BP, and Marathon sites, and our proprietary Fast Fuel brand. Our wholly owned subsidiary, Fuel Transport, LLC, expands our capabilities as a for-hire common carrier delivering fuel and petroleum products to hundreds of locations across the state. We also operate Pacific Pride commercial fueling sites to support our fleet customers.
